Who we are

CDV is a laboratory with over 35 years of experience in diagnostic tests, research, development, and mass production of biological products for animal health.
Since 2003, CDV has manufactured biological products for aquaculture.

Research and Development (R&D)

CDV R+D laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge technology, which allows the improvement of production processes such as tests on new bacterial and viral strains or new formulae, among others. The laboratory areas have room for special equipment, incubators with different temperatures, which allow growing distinct cell lines and infectious agents. In addition, it has warehouse areas that allow for storing reagents, supplies, and sterile equipment and areas for pilot-scale conducting trials in culture vessels.

Technical Service

CDV has a team of professional veterinarians who work together with the livestock producers and responsible veterinarians of the establishments to achieve the cattle productive efficiency through prevention. CDV Technical Service also offers support to the commercial chain through training and consultancy on products and laboratory services such as animal diseases in production, and the latest technologies to diagnose them and prevent them.

Our background

June 2019

1985

Dr. Susana Conigliaro founded the Veterinary Diagnostic Centre (CDV, from Spanish Centro de Diagnóstico Veterinario) as a diagnostic laboratory.

1989

It is introduced in the market the first bovine viral diarrheal vaccine manufactured in Argentina and officially approved by SENASA (National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality, from Spanish Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria). National strains and oil adjuvant are incorporated.

July 2019

1995

10 years after its establishment, the diagnostic laboratory becomes a referent nationwide. Besides, CDV provides a complete line of preventive biological products for viral and bacterial diseases.

2000

Foreign Trade Department is founded.

2000

The first export of biologicals to Paraguay is made.

2001

 Double Emulsion Technology begins to be used.

2002

 In December, the new plant for veterinary biological product manufacture is open in the industrial park in Pilar.

2003

CDV begins to work together with Agrovet (Chile) on the development and production of vaccines for salmonid, registering seven products with SAG (Agricultural and Livestock Service, from Spanish Servicio de Agricultura y Ganado).

2003

Exports to Chile begin.

2004

First exports to Uruguay are made.

2004

An adjacent land of 5,000 sq.m. is acquired, with the purpose of increasing production.

2004

Commercial relations with Bolivia begin.

2005

20 years after its establishment, the laboratory is placed among the three main biological product manufacturers in Argentina. The company changes its image and adopts the name CDV.

2005

Exports to Mauritania begin.

2007

ISO 9001 certification.

2008

The first batches of the FMD Vaccine are approved. CDV becomes part of Grupo Mathiesen.

2010

Exports to Colombia begin.

2011

Exports to Brazil begin.

2012

Exports to Jordan begin.

2013

The extension project of the production plant is started with an investment of USD 7m. 

2014

The R&D laboratory is inaugurated.

2014

Exports to Costa Rica begin.

2014

Exports to Peru begin.

2015

In October, it receives the certification Good Practices in the Manufacturing of Veterinary Products (GMP) by SENASA (National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality, from Spanish Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria).

2015

Outsourcing productions are expanded to national and international laboratories.

2016

The construction of Plant 2 for FMD vaccine production starts with an investment of USD 40m.

2017

Authorization by SENASA for Plant 2 named FMD.

2018

FMD vaccine production starts.

November 2019

2019

First commercial batch of FMD vaccine is manufactured in the new plant.

2019

Certification Good Practices in the Manufacturing of Veterinary Products (GMP) in Plant 2 (FMD).

Second re-certification of the Good Manufacturing Practices for Veterinary Products BPFPV (GMP), from Plant 1.

Award granted by Animal Pharm as the Best Company in the Veterinary Sector in Latin America 2019.

Exports to South Korea begin.

Plant 1

Virus, Bacteria, and Diagnostic Test. 4,200 sq.m.in a well-differentiated area:

Clean areas: It is here where the laboratory for weighing the raw material, the culture vessel manufacturing sector and the formulation area, filling and preparation of sterile material for inactivated vaccines and diagnostic reagents. Besides, here it is found the manufacturing cell culture laboratory to supply the needs of the plant.

Sterile filling areas.

Different biosafety level areas:

• Biosafety level 2, which involves the following independent areas: Aerobic bacteria, Anaerobic bacteria, Bacillus anthracis, Viral antigens, Rabies virus.

• Biosafety level 3 has different segregated areas: Bovine and avian tuberculin production, Brucella production, Antigen area for aquaculture vaccines.

Specific area for live vaccines filling.

Vivarium: in an area over 200 sq.m., it meets all the necessary standards and requirements to ensure the wellbeing and safety of both our personnel who works there and our 1,500 laboratory animals such as mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits that live there.

CDV is the only veterinary company specialized in the prevention, that also has its own diagnostic laboratory, allowing knowledge on the main disease problems which affect the cattle at a productive level, and so, it can manufacture products which meet the case studies of the region.

A stand of 240 sq.m. has three differentiated areas with cutting-edge equipment: parasitology, bacteriology, virology and serology, and molecular diagnosis (PCR).

It offers a wide range of analyses for all species of veterinary interest, specialized in the diagnosis and control of bovine reproduction diseases, including venereal diseases such as, Trichomoniasis and Campylobacteriosis.

At the forefront in the diagnosis of Brucellosis, Leptospirosis, IBR, Neosporosis and the detection of PI animals (persistently infected) for Bovine Viral Diarrhea as well as milk quality and bacteriological and physicochemical analysis of the water.

Certified as SENASA (National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality, from Spanish Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria) Official Network Laboratory (ID LR0223) for Brucellosis and Bovine Enzootic Leukosis samples.

Personalized interpretation of the obtained results.

A multidisciplinary team of professionals specialized in processing and analyzing the samples to provide an accurate, quick, and reliable diagnosis that allows the veterinary professionals of the establishments to take preventive and/or corrective measures of therapeutic or handling nature, and to increase the productivity of the herds.
